Accessibility Options: Keyboard

Introduction | Keyboard | Sound | Display | Mouse

Windows 98

Follow this link for a more recent tutorial applying to Windows XP.

The Windows Accessibility Options applet gives you fast but limited access to various features.

Keyboard Dialog

StickyKeys

StickyKeys is designed for people who have difficulty holding down two or more keys at a time. For people who type using a single finger or a mouthstick, StickyKeys allows the user to press one key at a time and instructs Windows to respond as if the keys are pressed simultaneously.

When a shortcut requires a key combination such as CTRL+P, StickyKeys will enable you to press one key at a time instead of pressing them simultaneously.

Check the tickbox to enable this feature.

FilterKeys

FilterKeys adjust the keyboard response so that inadvertently repeated keystrokes are ignored.

Check the tickbox to enable this feature.

ToggleKeys

When ToggleKeys is turned on, a sound is emitted when locking keys (CAPS LOCK, NUM LOCK, and SCROLL LOCK) are pressed.

Check the tickbox to enable this feature.
