Clicker 4 Access Method 1:
Just a mouse

Using the mouse to move around the grid and using the left or right button to select cells

This, I guess, is the 'normal' way of using Clicker where words are selected from the grid using the mouse, joystick or rollerball. When a cell is clicked upon with the left button the word or phrase inside that cell is transferred to Clicker Writer. If the right-button is pressed then the word or phrase is read aloud using Clicker's synthesized speech.

Swapping the mouse buttons

It is possible to swap the functions of the mouse buttons using the Windows Control Panel or by a nifty piece of software available from my download page.

Try it out!

Here is a working miniature version of Clicker that I have made to illustrate how one can combine normal typing with the keyboard into Clicker Writer while using the mouse to select words from the Grid underneath. Try typing in the the top part and then adding words from the grid.

Note: If you can't see a graphic below this text then your browser has blocked this content as it feels it might be malicious. If this is the case then I can assure that my content is harmless and you can enable it by clicking on the warning banner above.

Trapping the mouse

A useful feature of Clicker is the ability to 'trap' the mouse, joystick, rollerball or headpointer inside the grid area so that the user can't accidentally click anywhere else on the screen. Here is a step-by-step guide to setting up Mouse Trapping.

Now go back to Clicker Access Methods Contents or move forward to Method 2: Using a mouse, rollerball, joystick or headpointer plus an external switch to select cells
