The Grid 2 is manufactured and supplied by Sensory Software .

The original release of The Grid is an extremely popular access package. It can perform as a fully-featured Voice Output Communication Aid, provide switch access to Windows applications, access environmental control and can be used as a highly advanced on-screen keyboard. Many people use the software for all these purposes running it either on a standard PC or laptop, or a specialist PC-based communication aid.

The Grid 2 builds upon the success of the first version of The Grid. The biggest new feature seems to be the inclusion of new built-in applications.

New Features

The Grid 2 comes with easy-to-use, integrated computer programs that should meet the needs of most users, especially those who are primarily using the software as a communication aid. These include:

• Word Processor
• Music Player
• Email
• SMS Text Messaging
• Web Browser

Because these programs have been designed to operated by The Grid 2 they should be far easier to use than the mainstream third party applications used alongside The Grid 1.

User Management is also made easier with The Grid 2. The Grid 2 includes a Grid Explorer tool which lets you copy grids, back up to a CD and even view a user's entire grid set in diagram form.

Finally the grid editing process has been overhauled. Cells can now be stretched and moved around, and new shapes and background images allow for further customisation.
